Williams Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Coder to provide coding and Medical Records Review support of a mission-critical Federal program.  The Senior Coder will perform Medical Records Review as directed to determine whether the diagnoses that MA organizations submitted comply with Federal Government requirements. The Senior Coder will also perform Medical Records Review as directed to determine if the medical records supported diagnoses that the MA organizations should have submitted but were not submitted. This support will be in the form of Risk Adjustment Data Validation, targeted Audits, and consultative services related to the assigned task.


§    Knowledge of applicable International Classification of Diseases coding and coding requirements for different medical provider types such as hospital or physicians

  • Knowledge of CMS guidelines for MA record validity
  • Ability to extract diagnosis codes from all types of medical records
  • Ability to communicate clearly with other Senior Coders and Physicians
  • Knowledge of Medical Records Review

 Requirements and Experience

  • Current, advanced certifications from the American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC) or American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)  Five (5) years of experience in abstracting and coding in both a hospital (inpatient and outpatient) and physician office
  • Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy, prioritization, and quality of work
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and work on a variety of projects with a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
  • Background investigation required
