Position located ONSITE in Falls Church, VA
Candidate will provide senior level coding analyst support, with special emphasis on capturing workload of clinical services provided by Military Health Systems Facilities and their healthcare providers. Must have DOD outpatient coding experience.
Must have expert level competency in coding and classification systems; ability to communicate verbally and in writing at a professional level; and ability to advise, interpret and understand requirements of department responsible for patient administration, resource management and business planning functions is desirable.
Will use coding expertise to respond to coding questions from multiple levels and on coding hotline. Function as liaison between HIM, Data Quality, Program Management and will advise on Navy compliance with MHS guidelines.
Must be Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) ; Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician.
Bachelor’s degree desired. Minimum 7+ years of coding and or auditing experience is required. Qualified candidates may have equivalent combination of experience and education.
DOD outpatient medical coding and or auditing experience required (minimum 5+ years preferred). Private sector coding experience is also desired.
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills. Able to interact professionally with diverse audience in a high stress environment.
Excellent computer skills in all aspects of Microsoft Office (Word; PowerPoint; Excel, etc) required.
Must have good analytical and research skills. Ability to prepare presentations on data.
Must be able to satisfy the requirements to obtain a government issued security clearance.
Proof of COVID vaccination required. Wearing of face covering required.
