Full time position at Bedford Commons OB-GYN, a 15 provider group in Bedford, NH. Responsibilities include surgical and hospital billing, charge entry, collections and other duties as assigned by manager.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to be able to work effectively and independently with other employees, patients and providers

- Ability to give constructive feedback to providers regarding coding

- Able to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills

- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems

- Demonstrates proficiency in PC skills in applications and Excel programs

- Excellent knowledge of healthcare billing and coding procedures for hospital and office based services

- Experience in determining codes based on medical documentation

- Multi-task oriented

-Physician office, hospital or clinic experience preferred. Pleasant, courteous personality. Good effective communication skills.

- Proficient with medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT coding and use of modifiers

- Surgical/Hospital billing experience 3+ years

 

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

-Codes the surgical procedures performed from the operative report or the surgeon notes in the patient chart

-Creates systems to make billing surgical and hospital visits easier for providers

-Ensures that all corrected information on the patient registration form is corrected in the computer

-Ensures that the hospital billing is complete

-Functions as a team member in the business office when necessary

-Maintain a list of outstanding documentation required for coding

-Monitor online claims submission and correct any rejections

-Performs all necessary functions relating to Billing in both Allscripts Practice Management and Clinical Management Systems

-Performs all data entry required for entry of patient payments and insurance payments into computer system

-Performs other clerical duties as requested by the Billing Manager

-Performs other duties as assigned
