are seeking an experienced HIM Coding Vice President to provide overall
direction of coding services, strategic initiatives, and operational

Position
Summary:
The
Vice President (VP) of Health Information Management (HIM) Coding holds an
executive role within Healthcare Resource Group (HRG) and is responsible for
the overall direction of HIM Coding activities across all HRG clients. The VP
is responsible for strategic initiatives, financial and operational management
and leadership, program development, and labor management of all HIM Coding
operations. The VP of HIM Coding develops and executes standardization and
efficiency visions and strategies that support the overall performance, quality
improvement, and financial health of HRG and clients. The VP of HIM Coding is
responsible for the integrity of coding and compliance with all state and
federal laws and regulatory bodies. As with all leadership roles at HRG, the VP
will be expected to lead by example integrally embracing HRG’s culture and
passions as they currently exist and are developed moving forward.

Core
Responsibilities:
- Provide
oversight of all HIM Coding functions
- Establish
and actively manage relationships with clients, vendors, and e-Owners ensuring
a service oriented, high quality operations and support environment for all
- Provide
contract management for the coding business line
- Review,
analyze, and manage division projects ensuring timely completion according to
schedules and budgets developed with clients
- Coordinate
with clients and service line management, system requirement evaluations,
vendor evaluations, system selections, and negotiation of contracts to achieve
business objectives
- Lead
departmental policy development
- Provide
leadership for HRG e-Owners by practicing fair and consistent treatment while
enforcing staff compliance with corporate policies
- Promote
the HRG culture advocating pride of ownership and creating an engaging work
environment for onsite and remote e-Owners
Position
Responsibilities:
- Compliant
operations and coding performance
- Design
strategies to reduce risk related to HIM coding activities; formulate and
advance innovative strategies to provide operational excellence
- Develop
and lead all HIM coding teams and clients to achieve and sustain coding quality
and performance metrics, including coding quality and productivity for
physician/clinic, facility inpatient, facility outpatient, as well as coding
compliance audit accuracy
- Develop
and execute against associated budgets, ensuring budgetary guidelines and
operational margins are met
- Participate
in executive level financial reviews, providing overview of HIM Coding
performance
- Establish
key performance indicators for HIM Coding programs to monitor performance and
ensure HRG and client goals are met
- Monitor
HIM Coding metrics to identify any performance deficiencies; drive systemic
feedback for corrective action
- Determine
and monitor resources needed to optimally perform
- Ensure
appropriate controls exist throughout the organization to create accountability
and effective management of HIM Coding operations
- Implement
HIM Coding industry leading practices for compliant coding
- Stay
abreast of ongoing healthcare changes, competition, and best practices to plan
and execute strategic initiatives
- Travel
as needed to client sites and professional organization conferences
Qualifications:
Experience
- At
least ten years relevant experience in leading HIM Coding services and working
with multiple clients, coders, and auditors
Education
- AHIMA
coding certification (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P) is required
- Bachelor’s
degree in Health Information Management is preferred
- Healthcare
Compliance Certification (CHC) is preferred
Knowledge
& Abilities
- Thorough
knowledge of Health Information Management Coding operations and applicable
metrics and financials including improvements and impact on operating margins
- Revenue
cycle and business oriented with structure and performance excellence
experience
- Compliance
expertise in applicable aspects of HIM Coding
- Experience
with HIPAA and related federal and state privacy laws
- Ability
to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability
to interpret extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or
diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
