    Good Morning,

Can anyone tell me what codes they are using for the flu vac...

We were informed today that G0008 is an expired code?

    Thanks so much!

G0008 is for Medicare only...is your Medicare carrier telling you this code is expired?

    Thank you for your reply.

Medicare has not rejected it. We received a phone call from PACE CNY, which helps the elderly with their bills, they said that the G-code is expired.

We bill every flu vac w/ the G-code.

Have you heard of it being expired?

90658 is the flu vaccine and 90471 is the administration if you are billing other than Medicare -
90658 is the flu vaccine and G0008 is the administration for Medicare

I think PACE CNY is misinformed.

G0008 is still effective for Medicare. You should be using 90471 for most other carriers. I beleive the only insurance if have seen that wanted G0008 instead of 90471 besides Medicare is an Aetna plan in Colorado. These codes attached to Diagnosis code V04.81 should be all you need.
