Hospital based physician billing

    Default Hospital based physician billing
    Medical Coding Books
My physician works for the hospital but is at a clinic offsite from the hospital. For Medicare we have to split bill our charges. We are new to this and need to know if someone can help us out.

The physician is seeing the patient and billing a 36415 (venipuncture) and then the speciman is being sent over to the hospital lab to be processed.

Who bills for the venipuncture the physician or the hospital lab?

For our provider-based clinics, the facility (hospital) bills for the venipuncture.
