    Can anyone tell me a good link that has information about consutls vs refferels ? We are doing a pretend audit and our physician's are questioning different situation's so i need something in writting,, maybe some example's to show them.

    The information at this link is informative, but note that the last two sets of consultation codes are obsolete.

    yes, old codes ...but I was sharing the "info", on the question posted, basically showing the key differences between a referral and consult, (which haven't changed)

    here's a couple more links with a "table" in it to help distinguish between the two - again, just info to help see the difference between them....nothing to do with the actual CPT E/M codes themselves.
