OK, I know you cannot charge a new patient visit with a related injection for Medicare.

Is anyone charging E/M + inject. with commercial payors ? It seems most of the comm payors "say" they follow Medicare....?

Per NCCI policy manual, page I-17 + I-18 "the decision to perform a minor surgical procedure is included in the payment for the minor surgical procedure and should not be reported separately as an E/M service"....."the fact that the patient is new to the provider is not sufficient alone to justify reporting an E/M service on the same DOS as minor surgical procedure"
