Perinatal diagnosis codes

  1. #1
    Default Perinatal diagnosis codes
    Medical Coding Books
Can the diagnosis code 765.23 (25-26 completed weeks of gestation) be used for a 3 month-old patient or is the use limited to patients in the first 28 days following birth?
    Jenny Berkshire, CPC, CEMC, CGIC

  2. #2
The code is marked as newborn so that would no longer apply after 28 days.

    Laura, CPC
