Wound Care Management Coding

Can this code be used with the E/M 99213? Also, is debridment required with 97602? I read the description and I'm a little lost bec it states "non-selective debridment" - which threw me off whether debridment is required. Thanks for your help.

Depends on the carrier I would think. Medicare won't pay for the 97602 at all.

Non-selective means they remove both necrotic and healthy tissue, but it is a debridement.

    Hope this helps,
