    AAPC: Back to School
    Does anybody know what is done during a MMSE and what bullet it would fall under while coding an office visit?

    Mini-Mental State Examination, that's what it said when I googled it.

    ...quantitative calculation of cognitive status in a patient which may be used to screen for cognitive impairment, to approximate the severity of cognitive impairment, to follow the path of cognitive changes in an a patient over a span of time, and to document an individual’s response to treatment.

    Frequently used in psychiatric, neurologic, geriatric, and other medical populations.

    In calculating an E/M, it appears that psych and/or neurological would be appropriate bullets.
