    Default Ophthalmology Code

    AAPC: Back to School
    I do the billing for the physician's at a hospital,,ONLY PHYSICIANS,, medicare is denying CPT code 67028-RT or -LT stating i need an additional modifier, which modifier do i need ??

    Are you in a global period from a previous surgery? Was the service done on both eyes during the same operative session? If yes, modifier 50 is valid for this CPT procedure code. What other codes were reported with 67028?

    This can be part of a bigger procedure. Did it require an endoscope for visualizing/guidance the site of injection? Was it an implant? I would have to see the notes for this one.There might be another procedure that includes this injection. Also what was the substance injected? Also is this an injection required for continuatio0n of a bigger procedure-a global. Could also need modifier 59,79,77-
