Help w/ OP report

  1. Default Help w/ OP report
    Medical Coding Books
Dissection was carried down to the Sub-Q tissue. A large hernia sac was encountered. Within that here appeared to be omentum. The hernia sac was carefully dissected out circumferentially down to the fascia. The hernia was originated below the umbilical stalkand did not seem to involve the umbilical stalk. This was a ventral hernia and possibly an incisional hernia. The hernia sac was carefully dissected out and opened. Within there was an incarcerrated omentum. The fascia was enlarged slightly to allow reduction of the omentun back into the abdominal cavity. alpitaion of the fascia was performed circumferentially. An umbilical hernia was encountered and the fascia defect was opened to include the hernia. the fascial edges were identified circumferentially. The fascia was markedly attenuated. etc

My question, will it be appropriate to bill for both the ventral hernia and umbilical hernia, or would the umbilical hernia be inclusve to the ventral hernia
    Thanks for your help

It looks like it might have been incident to so I would not bill for it. Just my opinion, though
