    Question endoscopic mumcomyotomy
    Exam Training Packages
What is the code?? Doctor dictated: "a needle knife then was placed at standard settings, and we proximally cut down 1 cm into the cricopharyngeus muscle". I was looking at 43257 except it states for thermal energy... Anyone?

    Did you look at 43030?

(Ok, so I messed up the title )

Yes I have looked at 43030 but that is an open procedure. Would you consider that with -52 or 43257 with -22???

I see that now, sorry, I'm only coming up with an unlisted code. It's not quite any of the other's is it?

Not quite... That's why I was wondering about one or the other with the modifiers. It's Medicare so I sure as heck want to make sure I code it appropriately.

This is tough. I would not do the 43030 - after looking at it, it's not endoscopic, so wouldn't go there at all. The 43257 with the 22 is a possibility. It's closer than anything else.
