Default when a neonate transfers facilities for a procedure

    AAPC: Back to School
When a neonate transfers facilities for a procedure, can you code the reason for the procedure (ie: congenital heart defect such as tetrollogy of fallot) as the primary diagnosis or should you still code their gestational age as the primary diagnosis?

Default What and for whom are you coding?

Are you coding for facility or physician?

What procedure or service are you coding?

    More details, please.
