    Default excise redundant skin

    AAPC: Back to School
    Need help with the following:

Patient had previous right above knee amputation. Now has redundant skin that irritates with his prosthesis. Dictation reads: After anesthetizing with 0.25% Marcaine incision was made excising this redundant skin vertically. After assuring that this was undermined and redundant skin was adequately removed deep tissues were closed with running 2-0 Vicryl. Skin edges were closed with interrupted 4-0 nylon vertical mattress sutures.

Can't remember which other forum this is posted in, but I answered there.

    Check CPT for excise skin.
