Default Destruction of a dermatomal nevus

    AAPC: Back to School
We have a new surgeon that uses a CO2 lazer to vaporize ak,sk,nevuses and warts. When I work these destruction up I am getting 17110 or 17111 depending on the amount destroyed.

DESCRIPTION OF PROCEDURE: The patient was found to have a verrucous lesion
extending in a linear dermatome pattern from his right wrist up to his right
shoulder. It was of a verrucous nature and measured about 45 cm in length by
2.5 cm in average width. Under general anesthesia, the right arm was prepped
    and draped in sterile fashion.

With a CO2 laser at 11 watts, the lesion was vaporized and there was no
significant bleeding. There were 3 areas within the lesion with deeper skin
    loss from recent cryotherapy.

Topical Triple Antibiotic ointment was placed. He was transported back to the
    recovery room in stable condition.

Is there a different cpt code that I should be using?

That would be the CPT code I would use!
