    I have a question: The doctor final dx was Alcohol Induced Mood Disorder and Alcohol Dependence. Can I code 291.89 as the Primary Dxand 303.91 as the secondary Dx? I don't really understand the 291 "Exclusion" Could someone explain please? Thank you.

    The sequencing and code choices you mention seem appropriate based on the limited information provided.

    As for the excludes note, that is simply identifying that "alcoholism without psychosis" is coded out of a different category (303.XX). Your selected codes appear correct.
