    Question Complex Closure help!!
    Medical Coding Books
    Hi List

    When CPT refers to
When multiple wounds are repaired, add together the lengths of those in the same anatomic classification and from all anatomic sites that are grouped together into the same code descriptor.

A colleague of mine suggests that since the surgeon operated on bilateral breasts, that we would NOT add together. If both breasts are at issue and from the same anatomic group, wouldnt you ADD these complex closures together? Just trying to settle this dispute...Thanks to all who answer

I agree with you they are added together.
