    Are you allowed to put e-codes when a patient comes in for a consult from another MD ?

    as long as you use them as secondary codes and they are supported by the documentation then of course you can.

    Aren't E-codes to be used for the intial visit for data capture? Why would the consulting provider use an E-code?
