I read in an old AAPC thread that AANS does not recommend that the X-Close is separately billable when performed with a 63030. Does anyone know if that is still true? The thread I read is from 2007.

Still holds true. I have a handout from the AANS dated 2009 and it reads...

AANS Recommends: This is part of the global period sugical package for performing a discectomy and not separately billable. Do not report an unlisted code such as 22899 for this activity

Thanks so much. Is there any way I can get a copy of that?
