    Default Modifier Question

    AAPC: Back to School
I have a carrier that wants a modifier for a behavioral health claim. The patient saw a medical provider in our office on the same day. I can't find anything that seems to fit. Any suggestions? The patient saw two different providers for different services. Thanks for any help.

Where the services related? Read in Appendix A mod 32.
Maybe mod 59. "Mod 59 is used to identify procedures or services, other than E/M services, that are not normally reported together but are appropriate under the circumstances. Documentation must support a different session, different procedure or surgery, different site or organ system, separate injury NOT ORDINARILY ENCOUNTERED OR PERFORMED ON THE SAME DAY BY THE SAME INDIVIDUAL." However, when another mod is appropriate don't use it.
Those are the other two I saw.
