    Exclamation Electroconvulsive (ect) second opinion

    AAPC: Back to School
New to psychiatry--Under the baker act law regarding electroconvulsive (ECT) treatment we are required to obtain a 2nd opinion for med. necc.
Would CPT 90889 or 90885 be appropriate to bill for the provider who is only reviewing the patients chart to authorize for electroconvulsive (ECT) treatment?

He reviews the records and then what? Doeshe write a formal statement?

I would not bill the 90889 as he's not really writing up a report. I think 90885 would probably be ok.

I would read the assistant articles on it
