Default Physician supervison of NP for palliative care

    AAPC: Back to School
Can any one help me with this? One of our specialists (pulmonary doc) was told that he can supervise Nurse Practioners (NOT our employees) when they do palliative care- I am assuming at the hospital. Has any one heard of a CPT code for this?
    As always-thanks

not so sure he is right on this. You might want to check your states NP laws but here the NP must be in a collaboative agreement with the physician that is supervising and signing off on their work. So that would be the question then. And what does he mean by supervising and who do the bills get billed out under.
