Default Dx for post tibial insufficiency

    AAPC: Back to School
Can anyone suggest an ICD-9 code for post tibial insufficiency? There is no mention of tibialis tendonitis.

It would depend on what type of insufficiency:
If it is venous you would use 459.81

If it is arterial you would need to define the cause:
    An occlusion-444.22
    Stricture of the artery-447.1

Is post an abbreviation for posterior? I'm not sure is you're asking about posterior tibial insufficiency or something else.
