Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker

Question Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
    Medical Coding Books
We have an LICSW who is providing some Psych services on an outpatient basis. This is not a Mental Health facility and we are struggling to find the right codes for her to use in billing the services.

Is anyone else billing for these services? What code are you using for the initial Social Services Assessment?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

There are restrictions on what codes the Social Workers can use.

To begin with, look at the following:
    • 90801
    • 90804, 90806, 90808, etc

Also, check with your local Medicare Contractor. The following items should get you started:

    http://www.medicarenhic.com/provider...es%20Guide.pdf

Hope these prove of assistance. Also check out the Behavioral Health Forum on this website.

    Good luck.
