    I agree with you. I believe it is included in the well child visit.

    I agree with you also. There isn't enough documentation to support the 99212 outside of the well child visit.

    Does anyone notice that some of their providers want to charge an additional level of service for these types of visits but when they are actually doing the extra work they don't? Grrrr.....

    Weight counseling is included in the well child visit.

    I would like to know if you bill for these extra visits, are you being reimbursed by the insurance companies; and if you are being reimbursed are they paying for the lower charge?

    Talking wcc with e/m

    we bill for wcc visits and an e/m. You need to make sure that your documentation meets guidelines for both exams. The key wording "I then turned my attention to address...." is included in the wcc exam. We have submitted these claims to all carriers and have no problem getting paid. Don't forget modifier on e/m.
