    Default 49566 and 49561 together

    PATIENT had a recurrent umbilical incisional herina and left lower quadrant incisional herina both incarcerated . both with mesh
    yes 2 separate incisions was done
    now coding it
    would i use 49566- 553.21
    49568
    49561 -552.21
    49568

    other words, is it possible that you can have a recurrent herina and also a inital herina ?
    and if so DO YOU THINK i need modifer 59 ?thhanks

    Yes and yes! And make sure you get 552.21 on both of them!
