I'm hoping someone can answer a question for me. I have a patient that saw a nurse practitoner in 09 and now is coming into the office to see the physician. Would this be new pt E/M code or Established pt E/M. First visit with NP was billed by NP to Medicare.

Same practice, same specialty would be an established patient.

Thank you that is what I thought but wasn't sure. E/M coding is new to me
