I HAVE A ORTHO CASE WHERE THE MD AMPUTATED THE 2ND TOE AT THE BASE OF THE PROXIMAL PHALANX. THE ONLY CODE I CAN COME UP WITH IS 28820- AMPUTATION, TOE; METATARSOPHALANGEAL JOINT.

DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT TO YOU?????? ANY INPUT WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS!

You may want to verify that with the Dr., it sounds like the Dr.may not have gone into the joint. I would then use an unlisted code. (28899)
