    Default ICD 9 help

    AAPC: Back to School
Pt came in for an US abdomen...clinical hx if left upper quadrant pain.

Impression: left mid kidney renal stone.

I billed it out with 592.0, got rejection from Houston Trailblazers that 592.0 is not a payable dx code. Would it be coding correct to resubmit with 789.02?

    Default it looks like

for 5920 the test is usually retroperitonial u/s limited. I think that you should code 78902 and 5920 in your case.

Order is for a complete abdominal US and all elements are documented? Billing 789.02/592.0 would be appropriate?

You do not use the symptom with the definitive dx, when the definitive condition explains the symptom.

    Default well,

How do you know that the symptoms and the condition are linked?
