Counsel & No Counsel (Admin. Fees)

  1. Default Counsel & No Counsel (Admin. Fees)
    New Call-to-action
When a physician counsels and does not counsel a patient (who is under 8 years of age) for immunizations during the same preventative visit, how should the administration fee codes be billed? For example, a patient comes in and receives the following:

    90645 - HIB (Not counseled)
    90707 - MMR (Counseled)
    90716 - Varicella (Counseled)

Would you bill 90465, 90466, and 90472 or 90465, 90466, and 90471? Thank you for your help!

You would use the 90465, 90466 and 90472. You can only use the 90465 or 90471 for the first immunization only.
