    New Call-to-action
I have a patient that was seen in ER by an orthopedic surgeon. The patient has a nondisplaced Salter II fracture of the radius. The patient was placed in a long arm sugar-tong splint. No surgery is scheduled for the patient, but the patient is to follow up with the orthopedic surgeon in the surgeon's office. Can I bill the ER evaluation and the splint or would I only bill the evaluation?

    Any opinions appreciated. Thanks.

I would bill for the evaluation and the splint, assuming that the doctor was the one who applied it. If he just ordered it and the ER did the application, then I wouldn't bill for it.
