ICD-9 question for embolization

    Default ICD-9 question for embolization

    Our auditor is stating that a uterine embolization is icd-99.29, but our supervisor is stating its 39.79, any help here please.

    I am confused as to why your auditor would think that is the right code? Was there a procedure note to go along with this?
