59 modifier on lab cultures

  1. Default 59 modifier on lab cultures
    New Call-to-action
If a phys orders blood cultures 4 times do we append modifier "59" to the last three codes?

  2. #2
Check with the payer. Sometimes they are seen as duplicates. See if they will accept 4 units on one cpt or 2 cpt (one with modifier 59 and 3 units).
