ORIF following Closed Reduction HELP!

  1. Default ORIF following Closed Reduction HELP!
    New Call-to-action
We have a PA that is on call at a rural hospital which is an hour away from our main clinic. There are times he will be called to the hospital to consult on a fracture. He will do a closed reduction of the fracture and later that evening or the next day our physician will go to the hospital and do an ORIF. What services are billable by the PA? Do I bill fracture care or just a hospital visit? I am confused!!!

  2. #2
Is the PA on salary or paid by RVU? If PA is salaried, I would give the physician the RVU's for fracture care, and just bill a hospital visit for the PA.

Not my area of expertise, just an opinion.
