Question start & stop times IV's..help

if there is no stop time, what code do you use ? I was told to use 96374, if no stop time code as IV push. Is this correct. Would love some feed back ...thanks

When I coded for UC, if there was no stop time, we only coded for the initial stick and whatever they used (D5W or LR) + meds.

Yes, that is the way I was taught- if no stop time, downcode to IVP. : )

It's very possible that the nurse/doc administering the drug forgot to write down the stop time. Verify what drug was given, if it's a drug that's generally given IVP, you are probably ok to go ahead and code it as an IVP. BUT, if the drug is generally given as an infusion, check with the person giving the drug to confirm.
