    Default I&D coding?

    AAPC: Back to School
My physician is wanting me to bill an I&D of an abcess on the ankle and then an I&D again of the tibia. Should I just bill the 11044? Or can I actually separate them and bill them both? And I don't even know if the 11044 is a correct code to use. I'm somewhat new at this.

it would seem to me that you would use 10061 but need the note to know for sure what was done.
