Question Sensory Exam of Foot in Diabetic Patient

    AAPC: Back to School
We have a physician who wants to bill separately for this exam (in addition to the E&M) which was performed with a tuning fork and filament. I say it is part of the E&M code and cannot be coded separately. Am I missing something?

You are correct. It is one of the Neurologic bullets on your exam. Show the 97 Multi-System exam to your physician if need be.
