New Versus Est Pts

We have just been bought out by our local hospital eff 02/01/2011. There is also another ortho group in our town that are in negotiations right now to become part of the same local hospital possibly becoming eff 02/15/2011. They have several hospital owned physican practices and I think we will all be under the Tax ID#. My question is once the other ortho group becomes part of the hospital, if one of our physician's see one of their patients that they have seen in the last three years, will they be an est pt with our office as well?

If you're billing under the same tax ID, then yes, if seen by the other practice in the last 3 years they would be established.
