H&P from dr in same group

    I have a MD who used another doctors h&P and didn't write in the hosp. notes.
    then did surgery 2 days later
    can you do this
    He charged a subsuquent visit.

    So he didnt dictate or write his own note? Then , no you cannot bill for that. That sounds weird to me....... sorry

    This sounds like a case where perhaps one of your physicians was covering the other's patient.

    I assume the patient was already in the hospital as an inpatient and one of your physician's saw the patient for the H&P and the second physician saw the patient after, charged a subsequent visit pre-op and then performed surgery. Is that the case? If that is the correct scenario then it depends on what the documentation contains and when the decision for surgery was made.
