    Question Doctor signature

    AAPC: Back to School
If a doctor gives you authoraztion to sign a appeal, dictation, claim form, etc is this a compliance issue?

Absolutely. They're supposed to be the only ones that have access to their signatures. And office visitis and return orders have to be signed off by them before billing whatever it is. I don't remember exactly which, but either the January or February 2011 Coding Edge Magazines talk about this in detail.

    Sorry I couldn't help more, I just know that's a big no-no.
