Default Excision of Internal hemorrhoids, single coloumn

    AAPC: Back to School
From the op.note " I then proceeded with a simple hemorrhidectomyu utilizing the ligasure device. The fibrosed prolapsing hemorrhoidal tissues were simply grasped with Allis clamps and were elevated. They were then excised utilizing the ligature. There was no hemorrhage whatsoever. The excised hemorrhoidal tissues were submitted for histopathology."

Two questions, we also did lateral internal sphincterotoy with this procedure.

What code do I use for excision of internal hemorrhoids and can I code that with 46080.

I'm trying to locate an articles that might help.

    Thank you

I would use 46945. Not sure but you should be able to code 46080 as well.
