    Default modifier 52 - Is appropriate

    AAPC: Back to School
    Is is appropriate to code 27134-52 for revision acetabular liner and femoral head.
    Ins is Medicare.

    Per Ingenix, you can append modifier 52 to 27134.

    Let me rephrase my question, my billing department is telling me for revision acetabular liner and femoral head to omit the 52. I disagree.

    if you code 27134 for revision acetabular liner and femoral head you should append modifier 52
