Default Place of Service ER vs Hospital Inpt.

    AAPC: Back to School
If my physician see a patient in the ER and states in his dictation that the patient is going to be admitted as an inpatient by his personal physician.

Is the consult my physician does considered outpatient as the face to face was in the Emergency Room or is it considered inpatient?

    Thank you.
