    Job Description
    The Coder is responsible for accurately assigning diagnostic and procedure codes from ICD-9-CM and works closely with other departments/physicians to educate regarding correct documentation to help with proper assignment of DRGs.

    Ideal Candidate:
    • LTAC experience, or have worked for a hospital with an acute care wing in a rehab or hospital
    • Rehab Coding Experience
    • Experience coding for pneumonia and or complex pneumonia cases, as well as pulmonary cases.

    1. Minimum of two years of experience coding in an inpatient acute care setting, LTAC
    2. Knowledge of JCAHO, CMS, HIPAA and other regulatory agencies

    Education: High school diploma or equivalent

    Licensure/Certification: Certified Coding Specialist with American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
