When coding a recurring account with antibiotic infusion 3 times a day for 3 days will you have 1 initial 96365 with each additional 96366 or an initial each time? Can anyone help?

    Hi Ellen:

When you have more than one IV site or additional encounters in a single day, you can report more than one initial code; append modifier 59 to the additional initial services to indicate the distinct service(s).
