Change of Place of service

    Medical Coding Books
    When a pateint go into the hospital for an outpatient procedure and is admitted after the procedure is complete what is the POS for the procedure. 21 or 22??? Thank You

    It would be 21 for inpatient.

    Once a patient is admitted no matter what their original status was, the whole hospital stay and any procedures are considered in patient.
