Question Ov w/family of terminal patient

    AAPC: Back to School
My doctor met with the wife & son of a terminally ill established patient. The patient was admitted to the Hospitalists' Service 7 days prior to the appointment wife & son had in the office. The patient was discharged 2 days later. Both the patient and wife are established patients, covered by Medicare. In the dictation, my doctor states "over 50 minutes were spent in total..."
Can I bill for this and what CPT code would I use?
    Thank you!!

99358 for the CPT and the diagnosis V code for other person seeking consultation on behalf of patient, I think it is in the V68 category.

Debra - Thank you for the quick reply. There are 3 certified coders in "my" office space and although we all code for different specialities, we enjoy helping each other with coding mysteries. This one really had us stumped!
    Thanks again and Happy Friday!
