    OBJECTIVE To obtain a coding internship or coding position for a CPC-A

    EXPERIENCE Medical Office Assistant, Harmony Center for Women
    -Accompany patients from waiting room to exam room
    -Take patient’s vital signs and enter them into Electronic Medical Record
    -Review health history, present illness, review of systems, allergies and medications
    -Assist provider with procedures
    -Keep exam rooms stocked
    -Clean exam rooms and prepare for next patient
    -Sterilize instruments
    -Make patient referrals
    -Pre-cert procedures, imaging studies, surgeries
    -Schedule surgeries
    -Maintain list of obstetric patients
    -Create orders using appropriate CPT/ICD9 codes

    Managerial Training, Harmony Center for Women
    -Resolve link logic errors in Centricity EMR
    -Resolve errors in Athena buckets
    -Manage daily deposit batches
    -Enter surgical/obstetrical charges into Athena
    -Assist patients with billing questions
    -Run reports in Centricity/Athena
    -Audit charts
    -Assist with interviews

    January 2009-Current
    -Greet and assist patients with check in/check out
    -Answer phones
    -Enter patient demographics into Athena/Centricity EMR
    -Enter patient insurance into Athena
    -Manage medical records
    -Manage appointment schedule
    -Create/collect payment plans for obstetric patients
    -Make referrals to medical facilities and offices
    -Coordinate pharmaceutical representative lunches
    -Check patient insurance eligibility
